Oude Werf’s dining history began with the hearty 19th Century country dishes of legendary Hotel owner, Tant Betje Wium. Today, our Chef explores the region’s many flavours and vintages at a splendid restaurant with in-situ kitchen, fireside interior and vine-covered courtyard – just off our lounge.

Stellenbosch SOUL FOOD THURSDAYS

Every Thursday we select the best-loved flavours of the past, add our gourmet flair to the freshest ingredients, and create a three-course selection of dishes with their roots in our diverse culinary heritage and their presentation firmly in the contemporary world. Stellenbosch Soul Food Thursdays, R170 per person. The menu changes weekly.

Long and lazy SUNDAY BUFFET LUNCH

If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s the loveliness of a long and languorous Sunday lunch. Join us every week for the perfect roast lamb, traditional roast-chicken pie, selection of salads and side dishes, and – of course – deliciously decadent desserts.

Celebrate CHRISTMAS at Oude Werf

All you want for Christmas! Gravadlax with warm potato cake, horseradish, and crème Fraiche, or ham hock and mustard terrine, followed by maple and cranberry glazed turkey or baby chicken with gammon and lots of trimmings. Finish with Christmas pudding, peach ice cream, and brandy butter… R375 per person (kiddies menu available). Book now for the 12-noon or the 1.30pm sitting.

Traditional TEA PARTIES

Host a traditional tea party in our lounge for special celebrations with friends and family. For a minimum of 12 people, choose from a selection of delicious sweets, savoury bites and cakes. Served with tea and freshly brewed filter coffee.

Breakfast

Our daily Continental Buffet offers a generous selection of seasonal fruit, local cheeses, meats and patisserie. Still peckish? Order a traditional cooked breakfast or one of our signature dishes like Eggs Benedict … with fresh barista coffee, naturally.

Lunch

Recharge any time from noon to sundown in our shady courtyard (or indoors) with café style lunch-time favourites like salads, generously-filled sandwiches, scrumptious Cape snoek-cakes, classic fish ‘n chips, sirloin, or one of our ‘man-size’ ground beef burgers.

Dinner

Settle in for Cape flavours with a gourmet twist, featuring locally-farmed produce. Sample 3 classic Cape flavours with our ‘Oude Werf Trio’ main. And don’t miss a more-ish dessert or a glass or two of our region’s top vintages!
